VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES


Following are volunteer opportunities in our community. If interested, please call the contact person listed. These organizations are worthy of our talents, and they need help with free labor to make their resources go farther.

Matthew 25 Ministries

Volunteers help to sort clothes, personal products, etc. Groups of 4 or more need to call ahead for reservation. Individuals need not call but might be a good idea as well to make sure there is a need. 6-8 stations throughout the warehouse. Instructors at each station to assist and train. Volunteer for as long during the day as you wish. Chairs can be provided if needed.

Hours are Monday thru Friday 9-4 p.m.
Saturdays are 1-3 p.m. but these are usually volunteers in large groups such as schools, churches, etc.

Life Span

Teka Reinhold is Volunteer Coordinator and can be reached at 868-3210, Ext. 297. They are located at 1900 Fairgrove Avenue, Hamilton, OH. There are many opportunities for volunteers to do filing, make up packets, and much more.

Fairfield Lane Library

Call Amanda Toth, 858-3238, Ext. 358. Many opportunities including shelving books, CD and packing books for Friends of Library

Fairfield Food Pantry

Fundraiser and outreach volunteers are needed seasonally. For more opportunities to help the pantry you can reach Judy Dirksen at judydirksen@earthlink.net. Another contact is Larry Abbott 829-9047.

One Way Farm

Come help do mailings which are needed approximately every 4-6 weeks. Call Fran Frazee at 829-2139 if you would like to be added to her calling list and she will let you know the next scheduled opportunity to help.

If you would like to volunteer at their Thrift Shop doing pricing and sorting you can call Rhonda Croucher at 829-3276 to find out what opportunities are available.

Serve City/Chosen

Call Linda Kimble at 737-8900 as they always need disposable plates, bowls and utensils as well as coffee, creamer and sugar.

Partners in Prime

Diane McEachen can be reached 3 days a week at 737-5752. Diane coordinates volunteer activities for all three locations (Hamilton, Fairfield and West Chester). The following opportunities are available:

  • Delivering Meals on Wheels for all of southern Butler County. Hours are 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. There is mileage reimbursement although many donate their time, miles, etc. Most of the time volunteers will choose one day a week that they would like to deliver and they stay to that schedule. This is always a big need!

  • Kitchen helpers are sometimes needed to help in Hamilton where all the meals are prepared. Lunch servers may be needed at all three locations.

  • Club Assistant 1 day a week, 4 hours. Help answer phones, make coffee, greet members and clean up.

  • Holiday Decorators 1 day, 4 hours

  • Help deliver food boxes to residents of senior high rises in Hamilton. Each box weighs about 30 pounds.

  • Transporting members (especially in West Chester) to doctor's appointments, etc.



Call Diane and she will direct you as to how you can help. If you get her voice mail, leave your name and number and she will return the call. Remember she only works 3 days per week so you may call on a day she is not working.
